Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City Selects Ketchum as President

Managing Director Amanda Pennington Ketchum was selected to serve as president of the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City (“AWL”). Her one-year term begins Jan. 1, 2016. She has been a member of the organization’s board of directors for more than 10 years and has served as Chair or Vice Chair of many of AWL’s committees prior to taking on this leadership role.

Ketchum said, “I am focused this year on bringing events, opportunities, and programs to our membership that will have a direct and positive impact on their careers, client bases, and practice skills. I would also like to draw in more in house and corporate counsel to our membership.”

The purpose of The Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City is to promote the equality of women and others within society in general and within the legal profession in particular. It achieves this by providing women lawyers with a forum for the exchange of ideas and motivation to advance within the legal profession; providing continuing legal education programs; engaging in efforts to eliminate bias in society against women and others; supporting efforts to address the plight of women, children and others; and providing a united effort for the appointment of women to positions of leadership within local, state and national bar associations, civic boards and commissions, and the judiciary.
